What does the word neighborhood mean to you? For me, it is a place where I can relax, be safe, and know what is where and who is who.

Neighborhoods in Berlin are called Kiez, which originated from a Slavic word, meaning house. There are around 20 Kiez areas in Berlin, and they include their own sub culture and infrastructure.  Some of the more famous ones are Akazienkiez in Schöneberg and Wrangelkiez in Kreuzberg. Read more

The journey is finally over for the Mapstronaut – after his epic 6 day exploration of Rome, Berlin and London he’s ready to hang up his suit for now.
