Are you excited about Nokia maps after reading Part 1 and Part 2 of this post? That is not all, one of the coolest things you can do with Nokia Maps is use them offline. For your next trip, save on online data costs by downloading free country maps and navigation voices over Wi-Fi directly on your Nokia phone using the Map Loader. You can also use Map Loader to check for updates to the maps you already have.

Shortcuts are always great when using Maps on your Nokia phone, so for the power users who have lots of saved places, you will find your Maps Favorites in a tab under Search. In Drive there is a Favorites button in the new set destination menu. Now it’s easier than ever to save a place as a favorite. Just tap on the star in the Place page and the spot is saved. Synchronize from the main view of Favorites and Collections.

We’ve also been working on making sure that you can find out more about the places you might want to visit. Place pages have a new design including a new image gallery, user reviews, descriptions by business owners, important information like opening hours and contact details, plus reviews and other information from famous guides like Lonely Planet and Michelin.

It’s now possible to set your Drive destination to a friend’s house from your address book. The process of verifying addresses in the Contacts app is still a little bit long, but once you have done it, the person’s house will show up automatically in the Drive app.  There are even more little tidbits for you to discover in this new version.  If you already have Belle firmware running, you can access maps by Nokia Suite, Software Update from device, from .mobi, and from Nokia Store. For those of you with Anna, you can access maps by Nokia Suite or Software Updater on your device.

Try it out, and sure to tell us which features you like the best. We always love to hear from you!

Hi, I’m from Malaysia using a Nokia N8 with Symbian Anna. Recently updated to the latest Maps suite using the Nokia Store. I recently took a trip to Finland and found that I am unable to use my maps offline.

It takes forever to triangulate my position. After waiting for 10 minutes I just give up. Is there something I’m not doing right?

    Please help me out. Thanks!

Yeah, I found the Nokia Maps integration inside the contacts.
Its a cool feature when every contact is modiefied with its corresponding home address.

this feature is very useful, especially for business contacts

mmmh sounds not so good, maybe your phone has been damaged?
I would check up the phone in a Nokia care center. Maybe the gps module is damaged?
