Going on a holiday with a Nokia N8 is a must once in a lifetime chance to experience the “what may happen next..?” or “what if you did this or did that..?”. I would like to fire up it’s massive camera and UI potentials. I will never miss a shot for that, one app I like in OVI is Molome, it has cute, simple UI and awesome shoot and share capability. Because summer already closer, I think Nokia N8 is the perfect smart phone for be taken during the my summer holiday. Three applications will be chosen for my holiday travel is Gravity, Molome, and Ovi Maps. Why I chose these 3 applications because of its unique and flexibility functions. With gravity I can still contact/communicate with my friends on twitter and facebook. Also, I can check-in to the interesting places by Foursquare and get more badge n mayorship. For the N8, it’s all about the images you create.

1. I’d download Pixelpipe to put my images where they can be seen or stored along with any words of description to accompany them on a blog etc. It’s always good to be able to backup and send data.

2. Gravity for Twitter is the best social networking app around for staying in contact. For anything newsworthy I see in my travels that can be tagged with GPS and photographed and posted to Twitter and Facebook from anywhere.

3. SugarSync would give me the ability to get at file data while i’m away directly from the “cloud”. When at a wifi hotspot, could even use it to stream some music whilst waiting on flights and so on.

Between these, you have the most options available to use the images you capture on the move. And for a phone with a 12Mpx camera, this is it’s forté.

1 – Ovi Maps (with Navigation) – Perfect software for travelling…to discover new places on a wide touch screen phone!

2 – Fring – Too far still too close to our dear ones with this cool application! I just love this application – Make calls and initiate a chat on a click and to make video calls (We can even make our friends jealous by making video call and show them the wonderful places )

CAMERA PRO- need to take beautiful pics with its customizable settings and also, bracketing function for HDR capture of some scenery. although the main cam app is great, i like to take pics that don’t need editing later so tweaking the settings that best fit the environment is the most efficient for me.

Best app I found so far about weather. It uses very few resouces, and data consumption is very little! Last but not least it has a very nice GUI. It’s an app that you need to have if you plan to go on holidays but you’re unsure of which clothes you have to bring along.

OviMaps
Everything has been said hundreds of time, but I don’t wanna miss this occasion. The app is superb, and the maps are highly detailed. Offline car&pedestrian navigation is something that alone would make people want a Nokia phone. It’s not a surplus, it’s a comfort, especially if you want to go abroad for your holidays.

Nothing to say about this app, except that if you visit exotic places it’s the best choice to take a panoramic snap. You won’t miss a detail =D

Camera Pro: Dedicated cameras are a thing of the past. With Camera Pro + N8 + My photography skills, I’m looking forward to a great Vacation Photo album.

Gravity: To keep me informed and connected to the world at all times. Other than being a Facebook, twitter client, Gravity also happens to be a very good photo sharing tool so I wouldn’t have to wait till I get back to share my vacation photos with the world.

Opera: Lets face it. The only thing Symbian lacks is a good browser. Opera makes it complete.

All other important features like Maps, Push Mail, IM, Video calls are all built-in and you don’t really need a separate app for those..

For starters I’d download Ovi Maps and all the map data needed, so that I would be able to find my way around and discover interesting places with the help of lonely planet and other services included.
Next up is the SPB Brain Evolution – Yes, holiday is ment for resting but you should keep your mind sharp, even when relaxing. It’s amazing how much more you can do with just a few weeks of training. Lastly Foursquare – This is the funn app of my choise. Helps to keep those of my friends who chose not to come jelous and others to track the interesting places that I’ll visit during my holiday. Of course there’s also potential for myself, since I can get the tips that others have left and see what places are currently popular to try out.

3 applications from the Ovi Store which I would like to install on my Nokia N8 before going on holiday are :

1. Compass Touch -
Using our device as a compass and finding our way is very helpful when all the other things fails.
The N8 already has ovi maps installed in it, juz need to update if needed.

2. Fring -
Fring gives us FREE video, voice calls and live chat to our fring buddies and to other friends on
popular social networks, so that I can share my Live action and pictures…

3. Kaspersky Mobile Security -
KMS 9 keeps our mobile protected. Anti-Theft – locating our phone if it is lost or stolen, remotely
block or wipe our device is amazing. I’ve used a 30 day trial works good and if we lost/got stolen on the go, it helps a lot.

Moreover,
to go out on a holiday we definitely need a Nokia N8 mobile with its amazing technology….n Everyone knows what to do with it…!! The 12mp cam is awesome, & its inbuilt browser works good, we can share and stay updated from anywhere….!

2. Nokia Ovi Maps ( http://store.ovi.com/content/100493 ). The most convenient and detailed maps will not allow me to get lost and find a better way. All moments will remain forever in the memory with an excellent camera in N8. 12 megapixels! I want to share photos with friends!

I would definitely go with:

Nokia Panorama – ’cause I love taking pictures of the places I visit, and panoramic pics are always quite the sight! Specially when you’re visiting someplace with great landscapes and such. I have a personal dream of visiting Dubai, climb to the top of the Burj Khalifa and take amazing panoramic photos from there!

Ovi Maps – I definitely wouldn’t want to get lost, now would I? But not only because of the maps, but also because of the fantastic Check-In! Anywhere I go I get lots of suggestions of places to visit, and not only that, I can also write a review when I visit one of them and share it with everyone else, so that whenever anyone visits that same destination they’ll know which places to visit…and which to avoid!

And last but not least…

Fruit Ninja – I wouldn’t go on a vacation without an addictive, simple game like this one, if only to pass the time at the airport, or at the hotel.

You might notice that I didn’t pick any FB or Twitter apps…that’s because I’m really satisfied with the experience of using Nokia’s Social app. It may not be as complete as it can be, but really…if I go on holidays, the only thing I would want to do with my Facebook page is uploading the pics I take, and maybe update my status to let my friends know where I am…and Social lets me do those things with no problem whatsoever.

Plus, as far as the recipient is concerned, they get the same editable word file they would, had I stayed home and worked at a desktop PC all day. From the team’s point of view, I’m right where they need me.

Finally, after loading the phone up with all this goodness (and much, much more), I’d probably buckle and give it away to the most special girl in the world. She’s looking for a new phone and, well, she’s all that matters, anyway.

social updates? “social” is preinstalled. weather and news widgets are preinstalled too.

turn by turn directions? the mighty ovi maps with places of interest near me, and “check in” is very handy I may find a friend at the city where i am spending the vacation!

all of that is already installed on the N8 out of the box

even though, the store if full of great apps, that offer more & more every day, that’s why it is hard to pick just three. anyway i will pick skype to call home for free or for a little fee

Well its easy the best i think its opera because compared to the web browser of the n8 it rocks

Opera grants faster and more powerfull browsing in a good package while

If I would eventually have a Nokia N8, of course I would have tons of fun even if I’m not on a holiday. The three apps in Ovi Store that I would install to my N8 for a holiday would be:

1. Snaptu- Of course, I wouldn’t want to miss anything latest on the web especially things about my friends even on a holiday. So, Snaptu would let me feel that I am still connected. Also, this application would help me save more battery life so I could take tons of photos with my phone.

2.Nokia Battery Monitor 1.3- This is to monitor my life in the vacation. I wouldn’t want to miss taking photographs of the things happening in my vacation for every little thing is to be treasured and be remembered. With this application, I could easily charge my phone in a hurry and not miss a thing on a holiday.

3. Phonelocator Periodic 0.9- Having a great phone means having a lots of eyes fixed upon it. If I eventually left my phone somewhere due to whatever holiday have caused me and this application is installed, then it be a worry-free holiday for me

application

1. OVI Maps: Whether Mobile network is
available or not, having a inbuilt GPS receiver with A-GPS support,free lifetime voice-guided navigation
and downloaded OVI maps I can explore the map with routes for
Holiday planning. Best part is my operator is offering gprs/3G services,
so explore-finalise-book the holiday destination!

2.MoodagentWith unlimited download option I am already loaded with Music on my N8.
Now while on holiday trip what else can be more entertaining than enjoying the
song getting played as per my mood!

Whether earphone or
mobile speaker phone or on a sound system with help of FM transmitter ..
whatever..

3.PanoramaA must
have application when you have camera with 4000×3000
pixels, Carl Zeiss optics, autofocus and Xenon flash. Think what it will create
when you will get
great Panoramic views with this application.

hundreds of great application from OVI, I am quite tempted to write my opinion
about other applications. Anyways keeping eye on a new N8 I am sharing the
application which firstly came in my mind.

Having just seen my wife received a new N8 this is something that I have had to wonder about. The first three apps she put on, after all the updates, which included DAB radio and Ovi Maps, were Opera Mini, as it is just so fast and easy, Fruit Ninja, cos we’d been looking forward to playing it since I saw it but not having a Symbian ^3 device meant we couldn’t, and the Flare Theme which makes the home screens and the icons look great.
BUT if I was going on holiday and could only have 3 apps I would choose Mopedi Offline (Offline Wikipedia Reader) to give me all the info I could ever need from the best way to catch and kill my own food to info about where I am and plan on where to go next. I do go online occasionally while away but it is expensive and so if I could stay off line as much as possible then that would give me more money for my holiday. Second would have to be Real Football 2010 HD as all over the world when you mention you are from the UK people will say things like ‘ooligan?’, ‘Beckham?’, ‘Manchester Yoonited?’, and maybe ‘El Hadj Diouf?’ as a way of starting conversation so being able to play football with them on your phone will break the ice and could lead to some great cultural experiences.
The last one would have to be Fart Attack as farts are universally funny. Where ever you are in the world a loud wet rippling passing of noxious gas can reduce the most serious faced person to giggles and guffaws and so could be used to get you into and out of many types of sticky situation and make your holiday one to remember, all thanks to the N8 and OVI. Things like photos and Maps are on the phone anyway and so with thousands of tunes, radio stations, BBC iPlayer etc etc plus the 3 Holiday apps I have added, you would have a fantastic holiday.

This weekend I will have a tour to discover a famous city in Vietnam. It is a city of world cultural heritage. an ancient city with stunning beauty, passionate heart. not only that here there are stretches of white sand beach is beautiful.
My trip will not be successful without phones Nokia N8 powerful as this. And with Ovi store, three free applications that really need are: Ovi Maps, Nokia Panorama, Nimbuzz.
OVI MAPS application I do not worry I will get lost among the streets. It will also guide me where there are relics and beautiful landscapes that I can come visit. With the guidance voice I can go to the destination without the help of travel guides. And this application can tell me when favorable weather to begin the journey of discovery.
Would really sorry if I did not get pictures of my trip. Nokia N8 will help me do that. With 12.0 megapixel camera, it is excellent. can replace of any compact cameras But that is not enough to exploit it. The answer is NOKIA PANORAMA. Truly useful, it gives me the most honest picture, panoramic view. That is the broad picture of the ancient architectural works great, the beaches …
I can use the photos as postcards to send my friends. NIMBUZZ, I do not need to do so but can still share your pictures to friends. At
the same time I can update information from family, friends and chat
via Facebook, Yahoo, Twitter, MSN … The great thing than I
could possibly call to talk about trip and interesting things that I’ve met.. That’s an enjoyable trip!

wifi or phone signal is around, ‘Check In’ will be my travel log for my friends

a good nice place to sleep.

makes a good holiday if you can’t capture all those sweet moments ? With N8’s

If I win nokia’s supermobile computer N8 and go for a summer holiday trip the apps I must have installed in my N8 they are as follows ……

1. Ovi Maps : Because I am going to the trip it is the best choice for travelling in an unknown place because if I am lost there then with the help of GPS I can handle the situation. It also have many more cool features like trip adviser, weather and e.t.c. So it is all in one app for trips.

2. Angry Birds : It is because when I am tired and want some entertainment source then I will wake up my N8 and ask him for some entertainment and then I will go to games folder and start exploring another world of N8 which is games section and open angry birds and try to make angry birds and myself happy by taking revenge from green pigs.

3. Facebook for Nokia : This app is truly best and most suitable for N8 because when I take extraordinary pictures with my N8′s 12 megapixal camera obviously I will show it to all my friends and the best way out to upload them to facebook and share with my friends to make them jealous ha ha ha…….
I am all happy with it after coming back to my sweet home I will connect my N8 to my LCD with HDMI and explore my holiday again with my family and Nokia N8 also.

Molome: This particular app is the best photo sharing app which I find very useful. I would capture the beautiful moments of my holidays apply some cool effects to them and upload them to share with my friends and family. The effects in these app are awesome and very easy to apply with just a single tap.

OVI Maps: OVI Maps with pre-loaded maps and all the add ons is great. Pre-loaded maps would help me to find my way even if there is no network connection. The add ons would be very useful to find out hotels and restaurants nearby. With OVI Maps free navigation service I need not depend on anyone to find my way, I’ll be independent and could enjoy my holidays better. Whats more, with OVI Maps I can share my location with my friends and family. OVI Maps are the best companion for any trip that helps you to find your way through the crowd

Pocket Parrot: Many times it becomes difficult to communicate with the local people as many of them don’t know English, so this little app is a great help. lol i have been visiting here aft a long time & its going comp here & when i first came here there also was a comp & i won that one
well its difficult to choose only 3 app bcoz there are lot of it which i want to get on my device b4 going on vacations.
when we plan to go outside the main thing strike in mind is MAP so we dont get lost in any place but they don’t help much bcoz its so difficult to position urself in map need compass & lots of other things.well today N8 is comes with preloaded OVI MAPS So i first updated my maps app to the latest ver frm ovi store. it doesnt get u lost anywhere track ur location in seconds, it also comes city guide so no more heavy backpack lol whatever u want to find in city is all in ur hand.
second thing is i always want to get in touch with my frds share my journey, fun exp ,pics,location thoughts with GRAVITY which make me able to online on twitter,facebook,foursquare.
& the third but not last and the most imp to do all above work the BATTERY EXTENDER its really a powerful & reliable app which i cant forgot to install on my device well N8 comes with battery saver feature but add on makes its rock on. so i can full time map & be online and have fun with frds.

ITS NOT TECHNOLOGY, ITS WHAT U CAN DO WITH IT….

First off, I reckon the N8 has much of what I want already. I get into trouble I can phone or text, I need more info, it’s on the web! I want to take photos, record sounds, done. So what I’d want are the bits that help this all be special, the bits that help me meet people, see unique places, and remember them, all fitting in with what I like to do, which is aimless walking, off the guidebook routes. Oh, and I like to keep things simple, light, and reliable. I don’t want to have to get used to a new app just while travelling. But I do want to be able to find my way back.

So I’ll start with my trail of breadcrumbs, ViewRanger. An app I can use to enjoy the countryside here, or venture into deep, dark places over there.

On my way, off course I’ll want to chat with the locals. In case they don’t understand “where’s the b* network gone again?!?!”, I want this to be offline. My choice is mobiverse. A useful way to learn new vocabulary while sat on the train weeks before I travel, dreaming about the hol, and does the trick when I’m there.

Finally, I’ll want to keep a journal and, this being 2011 I’ll want to share it. There’s only one lean, light option there, Gravity.

Can’t go wrong with some bread, smiles, and gravity.
