Hi there! We are very glad to see you here at Nokia Maps Blog – our little blog about planning, mapping and sharing adventures and all the wonderful stories around them. In the blog, we will start with a focus of the simple pleasures of life – good food, great friends and lively music– and how our location based services and Nokia Maps will help you do what you love to do most.

Given that our maps community is spread across the world, we will also write about the places where we are from – what to see when we end up there, and the festivals, legends, and history that give them flavor. We are a community of people who love to share our great finds with each other, so from time to time, you will see guest posts and compilation posts from community members appearing here.

So who are we? We are a bunch of Nokians across the world, working to bring a good story to your screen. For now, we are:

Chiquira Wagner: Chiquira is a Guest Writer for Nokia Maps Blog. She is a New Yorker living in Berlin. She enjoys late night brainstorming sessions, life evaluation discussions, writing, words, letters, pasta, tapas, chocolate, oven baked potatoes, super sized ice cream scoops and chunky slices of blueberry crumb pie. She also loves meeting and interacting with people, quality friendships, good conversation, traveling and listening to Christmas music in the middle of July. She considers herself to be rather friendly. Say hello and connect with her on linkedin

Fran Thorpe: Fran is the Consulting Editor and is part of the Location Digital Marketing Team. Fran recently moved to Boston from Montreal, and travels frequently to Berlin. She loves finding her way around new cities and sharing her discoveries with friends and family.

Melinda Wong: Melinda is a Contributing Editor to the Nokia Maps blog, working in Product Marketing for maps.nokia.com and is a part of the Global Graduate Program. She just moved to Berlin a couple months ago from spending a year studying in Sweden and prior to that, lived in one of the best cities in the world – calling Vancouver, Canada home. She loves travelling, playing volleyball, going to flea markets and anything related to food. You can find her on  Twitter.

Ronaldo Ramirez: Ronaldo is the Photography Editor for the Nokia Maps Blog. He works on Nokia’s location related brand and design efforts. Ronaldo is from Bogota, Colombia and has lived in Miami and Seattle. Now living in Berlin, and Tokyo someday. He likes motorcycles, magazines and blogs related to photography and design and music.

Surya Santhi: Surya is the Editor-in-Chief of Nokia Maps Blog, and is part of Location Digital Marketing team. She is a South Indian living in Berlin after a pit stop in Helsinki. She loves her food, loves a good bargain when shopping, and loves Bollywood. She also likes to pack her bags and travel around the world, trying out exotic food and visiting museums of art and history. You can find her on Twitter and Tumblr. And no, she does not speak German. Stop asking.

We have some fabulous people working behind the scene to bring you great mapping. From time to time, they will also pop up here at the Nokia Maps Blog; to bring you tales from the front lines. Our map-makers are:

Al Kallel: Al is the Product Marketing Manager for Public Transport at Nokia. He lives in Silicon Valley in California and travels frequently to Berlin. He loves getting out and about and enjoying friends, family, and his wonderful community.
